A breast ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging test that uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of the breast tissue. It may be used in conjunction with mammography to further evaluate abnormalities found on a mammogram or to evaluate breast lumps or other breast changes that may not be visible on a mammogram.

Regular mammogram with breast ultrasound screening is an essential component of early detection and prevention of breast cancer. It is recommended that women over the age of 40 get a mammogram with breast ultrasound annually, as this can help to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, when it is most treatable.
The recommendation for mammograms and breast ultrasounds can vary depending on several factors, including a person’s age, medical history, and specific circumstances. In some cases, mammograms and breast ultrasounds may be recommended together to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of the breast tissue. While mammography can detect calcifications and masses, breast ultrasound can help distinguish between cysts and solid masses and can identify other breast changes that may not be visible on mammography.

Frequently Asked Questions
Taking a Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound is important for early detection of breast abnormalities, including breast cancer. These screenings can identify small tumors or benign conditions that may not be noticeable through physical examination alone. Early detection improves treatment outcomes and provides peace of mind. Regular screenings also help monitor breast health, track changes over time, and assess the risk for high-risk individuals.
Mammograms and Breast Ultrasounds are recommended for women aged 30 and above as part of routine breast cancer screening. Women aged 40 and above are generally advised to undergo regular mammograms. High-risk individuals, such as those with a strong family history or genetic mutations, may require earlier or more frequent screenings.
The test is performed by a doctor at one of our partner clinics in central Singapore. Once you select a preferred timing on the medical questionnaire one of our customer care team members will be in touch with you to book the appointment.
